Yes we offer full 24 hour access for an extra charge for business owners & customers that require the service call us for more details.
How does Self Storage work?
Wolverhampton Self Storage offers a modern self-storage with a wide range of storage options. We have various sizes available, starting from 25 sqft upwards. To make sure your storage is secure our units are alarmed. We also have 24 hour CCTV surrounding in and out of our facility. Only you have access to your unit as it is locked with your own padlock and no keys are kept by WSS, each individual zone also has its own shutter which is accessed with your own passcode that is assigned to you when you join us.
Can I transfer to another unit if needed?
You can move to another size room at any time, depending on your storage requirements (availability permitting). There is no charge for this, just pop into reception and someone will be available to help you choose a unit more suitable for you.
What sort of security do you have?
We have 24 hour manned CCTV surrounding both in and out of our facility. The surrounding gates are locked each night at 20.00 and not reopened until 06.00 each morning, excluding Sundays where they are only open between the hours of 10.00 till 14.00. Our facility and units are alarmed and can only be deactivated with each individual’s passcode. We also have PIN access shutters so only our customers can ever enter the building. The PIN system also means that we have a record of everyone who enters and exits the building.
What is the minimum time I can store for?
Minimum storage you will be charged for is two weeks, however we do ask payments upfront and monthly. If you state at the beginning you will only be storing for the 2 weeks maximum then on vacate day you can request a refund for the remaining amount.
Do I have to give notice to leave?
We ask for fourteen days’ notice when you vacate and we will refund any unused storage and insurance charges on request.
Do you sell boxes?
We sell a wide range of packing materials in store, pop into our reception to take a look and make any purchases.
Is there anything I cannot store at Wolverhampton Self Storage?
As a guide, these are the only goods we are unable to store: 1. Living things such as animals and plants 2. Hazardous materials such as flammable liquids and explosives 3. Perishable items that could decompose such as organic foodstuffs and plants 4. Unauthorised or illegal goods such as drugs or firearms.

What is included in the price? Are there any hidden charges?
The price you are quoted by our website or staff includes the cost of your storage unit per calendar month including VAT. This price will be held if you reserve the unit. You will need a padlock to secure your room (you can bring your own or buy one from our store). Insurance is optional. If you have your own that will cover your items in storage then we require proof of that insurance with self-storage facilities named or alternatively you can purchase insurance in store to cover your goods whilst in storage. Without insurance you are limited to the loss of £50.
Do I pay weekly or monthly?
We invoice customers for a full calendar month in advance, starting on the date the unit is taken up.
How can I pay for my space?
We offer a number of payment options including credit card, debit card, cheque and cash. You can also set up a standing order or make bank transfers (Our bank details and your reference are provided on request).
How often can I access my space? Are there extra costs?
At our facility your standard access hours are our office hours. These are 08.00 till 17.00 Monday to Friday and 9.00 till 16.00 Saturday. We also offer additional access at a low cost of £5.00 per calendar month for extended hours, which are 06.00 till 20.00 Monday to Friday, 08.00 till 16.00 Saturday and 10.00 till 14.00 Sunday. Our 24 hour access is £10.00 per calendar month.
Do I have to pre-book a space?
No. You can complete your storage contract in store to move in immediately. However to be guaranteed a room of a specific size, we advise you to book your room in advance. This can be done up to two weeks before you require storage space and with no deposit.
Can I move in today?
Yes, you will need to visit the store within the office opening hours and bring along with you proof of identity (a passport or driving licence) and any means of payment such as debit card or cash.
Can you help me with removals?
We provide a van and man service to bring items into storage and also to help vacate a unit and return items to your address. All we ask is that the collection/ drop off is local to us and everything is ready for collection on the ground floor. We also have trolleys available on site to help you move your goods once in the facility.
